Before specialising in film and content production I worked as a freelance music journalist for the Guardian, BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing.
While working at the Guardian I wrote my own column New Band Up North. Each week I picked one emerging artist to share with my international audience online. It was incredible to shout about the music being made across the North of England.
What's even more rewarding is to see how far some of those acts have now come in their careers. A few include: The 1975, Bipolar Sunshine, MONEY and Dan Croll. Go and have a read of the full column below.
